After upgrading to Windows Media Player 11 you find that DVDs produce garbled images. The Media Player Troubleshooter does not help to clear the problem.
Download Microsoft XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility to determine if you have the proper decoder installed to play DVD videos. For some reason this utility is not mentioned in the trouble shooting guide.
