Fannie Mae Gardens

Length: short (emphasis is on viewing gardens)

Surface: stone

Exposure: sun

Surroundings: gardens, ponds

Directions:

The gardens at Fannie Mae are a photographer's dream. Walkways have been placed around 3 ponds on the property and are wheelchair and stroller accessible. It is suggested that you visit the garden in early morning or late evening when the lighting is most favorable. Parking is available next to the W&OD trail on Old Reston Avenue just north of Sunset Hills Road.

The gardens were originally created for Sallie Mae. The property was later sold to Fannie Mae when Sallie Mae moved to Reston Town Center. The landscape architect is Edaw Inc of Alexandria. Pictures of the gardens are provided on the next 2 pages.
